BJP’s Nadda pressures Rahul Gandhi for answers, cites Congress as symbol of corruption

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is escalating its pressure on the Congress leadership following the staggering recovery of approximately Rs 300 crore in cash from Rajya Sabha MP Dhiraj Prasad Sahu. BJP National President JP Nadda, in a scathing critique on Sunday, called upon Rahul Gandhi to address the unprecedented cash haul, deeming it the ‘highest ever’ in the country, reported TOI.

Nadda, in a post on X, delivered a direct message to Rahul Gandhi, stating, “Brother, both you and your leader Rahul Gandhi will have to answer. This is the new India, where people will not be allowed to be exploited in the name of the royal family. You will get tired running, but the law will not leave you.”

Underscoring resolute action in the case, Nadda asserted that if the Congress represents corruption, Prime Minister Modi stands as a guarantee for swift action. “If Congress is the guarantee of corruption, then Modi ji is the guarantee of action against corruption. Every penny looted from the public will have to be returned,” added Nadda.

Previously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had strongly criticized the grand old party over the income tax department’s seizure from liquor company premises linked to Jharkhand MP Sahu. PM Modi emphasized that the seizure exposed the Congress’s hypocrisy regarding corruption, pledging the return of every misappropriated penny to the public.

Following the cash recovery from different locations associated with the Congress MP, who was actively involved in the Congress padyatra ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ led by Rahul Gandhi, BJP’s IT department head Amit Malviya took potshots at the Congress leadership and the Gandhi family. He shared a picture of Sahu with Rahul Gandhi during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra,’ adding fuel to the ongoing political discourse surrounding the cash discovery.
